Memory #20 & #21, Skill #5
(#20, Things fall apart: Ep. 10, significant negative; won in the heart games. Item: an ornate sugar rose)
*The Team--Madoka, Kyouko, Mami, and Homura--are in the midst of a pitched battle against a certain musically-themed witch.*
Kyouko: Just what the Hell are you?! What did you do to Sayaka?!
Madoka: Sayaka-chan, stop it! Please! Remember! This can't be what you wanted!
*Madoka is struck by one of the wheels the witch hurls, and falls. Homura rushes to her rescue, stopping time to shoot down more wheels that had been headed Madoka's way . . . and to set up some explosives.*
Homura: I'm sorry, Miki-san.
*Homura hits the detonator, and time resumes. The wheels are deflected, and the bombs she'd set up around Sayaka's witch-body go off, destroying her. Her witch-world recedes, leaving the team in a train station.*
Kyouko: Sayaka . . . damn it! This . . .
Madoka: This is so cruel! Too cruel!
*But while Kyouko shouts, Madoka cries, and Homura quietly seethes . . . Mami snaps. She conjures her ribbons to bind Homura, then quickly shoots Kyouko's Soul Gem, shattering it and killing her instantly.*
Homura: Tomoe-san--!
Mami: If Soul Gems give birth to witches . . . our only choice is to die! You--and me too!
Homura: Sto--
*But before Mami can fire, Madoka does, destroying Mami's Gem. Mami shoots as she falls, but it goes stray.*
Madoka: No! I can't take this anymore!
*Homura walks slowly--a bit unsteadily--towards the sobbing Madoka, trying her best to smile comfortingly, though her own pain is written all over her face.*
Homura: It'll be fine! Let's both do our best! Let's defeat the Walpurgis Night together!
*Madoka calms down a bit, lifting her head to give a tearful nod.*

She learned that Sayaka succumbed to witchery, that at the point at which this happened Kyouko cared about her, aaaand that Mami was a whole lot more fragile than anyone thought. All of these revelations will make her feel a lot weirder around Sayaka because aaaaa not being able to talk about it aaaaa 8'( Plus, just, well, the nature of the events themselves--even if she COULD talk about it, it'd be terrible. BUT she feels this justifies her "Kyouko is awesome" assessment a lot. A faint bright spot in this terrible, terrible memory!
(#21, It's not like you just to watch: Ep. 7, trivial neutral; won in the Sea Witch/Netted Lion pain game. Item: a course hemp blindfold [reusable; 1/2 uses remaining])
*It's nighttime. Homura finds Kyouko sitting in a creepy industrial park, munching a popsicle and watching the fluctuations of a nearby witch-barrier, inside of which Sayaka is struggling.*
Homura: It's not like you to just watch.
Kyouko: She's fighting a Witch tonight, not a Familiar. A Grief Seed should drop. This hunt's not a waste.
Homura: So that's why you're giving her your prey?
*Kyouko gives Homura a sort of startled, almost indignant look before the witch situation regains her attention.*
Kyouko: That idiot! She can't handle this.
Kyoukodere +100
lol Kyouko liek Sayaka lol
THAT'S SERIOUSLY ABOUT IT. In this memory, Homura is just sorta "wow" that Kyouko, of all people, would let Sayaka just have a ripe target like that. Homura hasn't directly remembered much of the previous Kyouko vs. Sayaka business yet, but between memories Kyouko's shared and things both Kyouko and Sayaka have told her, she knows they didn't get off on the best foot. So seeing Kyouko soften up like this (relatively speaking) is surprising.
(#5, Self-healing: Special, won in Green Knight's maze game. Item: a small chocolate puzzle piece)
A magical girl's Soul Gem is the repository of their ~true essence~, their soul. As long as it remains whole, a magical girl cannot truly die. But they can't really do much fighting without a physical body, so the Soul Gem gives them the ability to repair it, letting them heal from any injury! With the power cap in place, Homura's regen powers will take more juice, but still, good power to have.
