Skill #2: Magical Girl Transformation
(Special; won in Game #46. Item: chocolate sheep in Kunzite-pink foil wrapping)
SO THIS IS AN IMPORTANT ONE! Homura has regained the power to take on her magical girl form. She hasn't regained much of her actual magic yet, but this skill does confer certain advantages! The main one is physical. Magical girls gain enhanced physical prowess; this is especially important in Homura's case, as it means her heart condition is no longer a real concern. Essentially, being a magical girl allows her to train herself out of it. She's still extremely short on stamina/ability right now--her awesome athleticism is a separate skill!--but she doesn't have to worry about fainting from light exertion/other heart-related problems, and with practice she'll be able to do things like, you know, walk medium-to-long distances without getting winded. :'D
In theory, Homura can use this basic body-repair/enhancement function of being a magical girl to fix her eyesight as well, but that probably won't be happening until she gets enough memories back to (hate the world again) remember that she did that. FORGET THIS decided to make the self-regen a separate skill!
In terms of the power cap . . . well, she doesn't bump up against it too much with this one, though she would normally have the potential to go higher in strength/agility/etc. than the cap probably allows. She's not really anywhere near that point at the moment, though--she has to undergo training!!1! first.
This skill also brings her Soul Gem into play! Her Soul Gem is actually her. It contains everything that makes Homura herself--her soul, basically, like it says on the tin. When she's not transformed, her Soul Gem usually takes the form of the silver ring she wears on her left hand, but she has to turn it into its more recognizable gemstone form in order toactivate HERO MODE transform. That was an awkward sentence. But anyway, the Soul Gem brings with it a certain weakness! Since it contains her soul, she has to stay close to it. If she's not within about 100 meters of it, her body will stop moving and essentially die--no pulse, no breathing, no nothing until her gem is brought back within range. :'D
Homura, of course, does not know this, as she hasn't gotten any memories related to the ins and outs of Soul Gems back yet. She does know the Gem is the source of her powers, though, and probably won't be all that keen on being separated from it anyway.
