Memory #1 (spoilers!!)
(Ep. 10, significant negative; won in game #32. Item: black feather [reusable; 4/5 uses remaining])
*All around them, the city is in ruins, the sky full of washed-out gray clouds. Pieces of skyscrapers float eerily in the sky around a massive, bizarre figure--a woman in an elaborate dress, suspended upside down from a huge clockwork gear. The lifeless body of Tomoe Mami lies between them, Madoka knelt on one side, a shocked and tearful Homura on the other.
Then, Madoka stands, her voice calm and determined as she speaks.*
Madoka: Here I go.
Homura: But . . . Tomoe-san . . . just died . . .
Madoka: That's why. Now I'm the only one who can stop the Walpurgis Night.
Homura: It's impossible! You can't win alone against that! You'll die too, Kaname-san!
Madoka: Still, I'm a magical girl. I must protect everyone.
Homura: Let's run away! There's nothing we can do! No one would hold it against you!
*Madoka smiles.*
Madoka: Homura-chan, I'm happy we became friends. When we got there in time when you were attacked by the witch . . . I'm still proud of that. So I really think it was worth becoming a magical girl!
Homura: Kaname-san . . .
Madoka: Goodbye, Homura-chan. Take care.
*Madoka leaps away, hurtling through the air like she's flying, leaving Homura behind.*
Homura: Don't go--Kaname-san!
*Homura doesn't witness most of the battle, but it subsides quickly. She finds her way into the ruins, and in those flooded streets, she finds Madoka's body.*
Homura: Why . . . did you have to die? You knew what would happen! Rather than saving me, I wish you'd . . .
*She breaks down into sobs over Madoka.*
Homura: I wish you'd lived on!
-WHAT IS MY LIFE +9001
-Grief +billions and billions
-Her name! Or at least half of it. But she's probably going to be going by Violet for at least a while longer just because this memory was so terrible that she can't really handle the reminder.
-Knowledge of other people from home! Specifically, "Tomoe-san" and "Kaname-san"--again, half names. She also knows that this "Kaname-san" was 1) very super important to her and 2) apparently had magical powers?? And by implication so did Tomoe-san. But now they're both dead. 8(
-But she doesn't know all the ins and outs of magical girls and witches; this memory was short on explanation for that. She just knows there was some freaky shit going down in her world, and that apparently this Kaname-san saved her from a witch at an earlier point.
-This is going to make her super suspicious and scared around anyone claiming to be a witch! Magic in general is probably going to wig her out--but then again, it probably would've done that anyway.
-Mainly though yeah this is just going to make her really depressed for a while.
